Off to meet some ex-colleagues from Financial Force, for a comping trip.

Pitched up and the CCC site outside Barnard Castle. Helen, Bill and Simon went in to town and had a good tapas by all accounts, but I'd brought my meal so ate in the van. Sat out and nattered until it was dark, very nice to catch up.

Walked in to town with Simon through the woods and along the riverbank. First visit was coffee & cake in a sunny courtyard, then round the shops - a foodie place, vinyl outlet, and camping shop to get me a fleece. We didn't make it to the castle! Bit of stocking up on wine then a taxi back.
In the evening Helen drove is all down to the Three Horeshoes for a mean - scampi and chips, very nie.
23 Had a day on site, reading and gossiping, then ordered a takeaway in for tea. They got the order wrong so we ended up with loads! A virulant green chicken dish sticks in the memory, and on the clothes...
25 Disaster! After all my research, my knee popped about 20 mins into my walk, so no lovely day in Swaledale. it took me 40 mins to hobble back and then just rested up. Disappointing. I could come back in the Spring, I think it is a bit exposed for a Winter camp.
